In addition to monitoring legislation regarding football in the state of Maryland and providing members with a $2 million insurance policy, the MFCA sponsors several events available to member schools, such as the the Howard County 7 on 7 Passing League, MFCA/ NFF Junior Skills Development Camp, the Big 33 All Star Game, and is also a co-sponsor with the Baltimore Touchdown Club for the Greater Baltimore Chapter of the National Football Foundation Scholar Athlete Banquet.
This $2 Million policy covers you and seven of your assistants for any coaching-related liability. If you wish to insure more than the seven coaches covered by the membership fee, the cost will be $22 per extra coach. NOCAD will no longer cover youth coaches as of the insurance cycle starting this year. The membership cycle is two years. The cost is $65 for two years, plus $22 for each additional coach. Also, new this year is the ability for retired or unaffiliated coaches to join as a single member for the cost of $22; these unaffiliated coaches receive the same coverage as members working on a specific staff. August 1st of 2024 will begin the next insurance cycle and members will be covered until July 31st of 2026.
