Maryland Coach Survey

Published on

Mental health is becoming a huge concern on our society today.  As coaches, we have a responsibility to help our kids navigate issues that sometimes, as adults from a different generation, we may have a hard time understanding. In response to this crisis, the state of Maryland has passed legislation that will require coaches in all sports to receive training in helping students deal with mental health issues.  However, the Maryland Football Coaches Association, with the help of Dr. Jay Goldstein at the University of Maryland, is attempting to help the state craft training that is meaningful and useful to our coaches.  However, we need your help!

To ensure that the training that you will receive as a coach in the state of Maryland through this initiative is something that you feel will work for you, we need to know your thoughts on how that training would work and look, and possibly how you feel it should be implemented. Please use the QR code on the flyer below to access a short survey that will give us the kind of information we need to help you learn how to best help our student athletes when these situations arise.

This is a great opportunity to ensure that the training that is mandated is crafted in a way that helps you as a coach help our kids.  Please take the survey today, and feel free to pass the flyer on to any other coaches, athletic directors, or administrators that you feel would be interested in helping us to ensure that this training is sound and meaningful.
