On May 4th, The Maryland Football Coaches Association, in conjunction with the Greater Baltimore Chapter of the National Football Foundation and the Baltimore Ravens, is proud to host the third annual Junior Skills Development Camp on Sunday May 4th. Previously, this affair has been hosted by the Ravens at their team facility; however, due to the fact the Ravens are renovating their entire Owings Mills Facility, the location is still being finalized. The hope is to hold it on the outdoor fields at the Ravens facility, but we won’t have an answer on that until some things in their construction schedule get resolved. In any case, whether it’s on the grounds of their facility or at another location, the Ravens will still be a proud sponsor of the event.
The QR code on the attached flyer is the gateway into the registration portal for both players and coaches that wish to help us work the event. Please keep in mind: this is not a developmental camp. Coaches should only have players register that fit the following criteria:
Are players that are Juniors right now and in good academic standing (rising seniors)
Are starters in their program that have the potential to be college players at some level. All County or other post-season honors for achievements on the field is always a plus!
The day is very organized and works like this:
Players are broken down by position group: Offensive line and defensive line in one session, offensive skill players and defensive skill players in another. Since we’ve been indoors the last few years, we’ve gone in two sessions; however, if we are outside, we may try to work all groups together at the same time.
It will be run like a practice. Basically, after warmup, they are broken up into groups and rotate to offensive individual workstations. Then we move them two a group work setting. Finally, we do team work- offensive line vs. defensive line in pass rush one-on-ones, skill groups go offensive skill vs. defensive skill groups in half line passing drills
The cost is $25 and that includes a t-shirt and a day of drill and instruction from the best high school football coaches from around the state. We have space for 150 kids total, and our goal is to get 150 of the best players from all areas of the state of Maryland to attend this event, but we can’t do it without your help! So, coaches, please register your best players today!
